The FBI reccently shut down a major download website called "Megaupload," after a two year investigation "Anonymous" was found to have hacked the websites of the Ministry of Justice and Universal Music Group. Officials claimed the sites were used to attack U.S. government officials. Both justice.gov and universalmusic.com were shut down after the arrest of the 4 people, related to the "Megaupload" site, was revealed. The authorities accused "Megaload" of being part of "a criminal organization responsible for a vast network of global hacking" thats caused more than $500,000million in damages to copyright
In my opinion this is a big mess! I don't understand why there had to be a 2 year investigation like why did it take that long to figure this out? So much money could've been saved had it been found out earlier. If this was supposed to be a like national site then why was it possible for 4people to get into it? This doesn't make anyone feel very safe what if it wouldn't have been just a protestor, what if it were someone more distructive?
